NIMS Training Recommendations for Volunteer Organizations

The volunteer agencies are a critical component of the State of Missouri emergency response and recovery effort during a time of disaster. With this in mind it is important that the personnel comprising these organizations receive sufficient training that would allow them to operate efficiently and integrate fully into the state and local response system.
As the public sector response community embraces the National Incident Management System (NIMS) so too must the volunteer community that supports the disaster effort. It is with this in mind that the State Emergency Management Agency recommends that the following training matrix be followed by the volunteer agencies and organizations. These are minimum training guidelines and volunteers are encouraged to exceed them as needed.
